Enjoy a great range of activities at Fritton Lake
Fritton Lake Holiday Resort is set within 250 acres of mature woodland and parkland and has one of the most beautiful lakes in East Anglia. We offer a wide range of activities for our owners and holidaymakers from our Outdoor Centre; ideal for people who enjoy adventure and the outdoors.
There are some great places to visit on the estate and in the surrounding area. Somerleyton Hall & Gardens is open from Easter to September inclusive, where one of the great Victorian country houses sits almost unreal in the Arcadian park surrounded by 12 acres of arboretum and formal gardens including Nesfield’s famous maze and finely restored parterre. Cream teas and charming guides enrich the experience.
Visiting Somerleyton Hall works nicely with walking around the Victorian model village and enjoying the Duke’s Head our village pub down near the river Waveney.
Indeed if you are a boaty sort, you can hire a day boat at St Olaves and drift down to Somerleyton moorings passing by our historic windmill along the way.
We can recommend the imperious circus at the Hippodrome, Great Yarmouth run by one of Britain’s great circus impresarios Peter Jay and his family, the pleasure beach fun-fair with the oldest wooden roller-coaster in the country and Gorleston beach for a more sedate day by the sea is also great for young children. If you want a real gastronomic treat then the seafood restaurant in Yarmouth old town with its charming host Miriam Kiki and horse racing nostalgia is seriously good. We also recommend visiting Southwold Pier and Burgh Castle.
