A really great pub in Somerleyton

The Duke’s Head is a public house & restaurant located in the pretty village of Somerleyton on the Suffolk/Norfolk border. Run by Tara Smyth & James Santillo since March 2018, The Duke's focusses on good food & great hospitality alongside well-kept beers & a straightforward wine & spirits list. There is dog-friendly bar with a woodburner & board games, a seperate restaurant with wrap-around windows & a large beer garden with views across the fields.

You might say we're the best pub in Somerleyton...

"We write our menus not just around seasonality but also around best practice. In order to source the highest quality, sustainable & ethically produced ingredients we work directly with the farmers. Specifically choosing to work with small-scale producers as we have seen first-hand the level of care & responsibility they have in their work.

Our menus are designed not only to be delicious & enjoyable but to subtly show you a time & place, we want you to not only be fulfilled but have a sense of place. This is why we believe the sourcing of ingredients is so important; we want you to be able to taste the dedication, love & quality of our purveyors, but also the time of year. Our menus at times may seem repetitive, with little or no fanfare or frivolity on the surface but dig deeper & you will access the reasons why & understand the building blocks of not only our menus but of us."
