2026 Season

Tue 7th April – Sat 31st October inclusive.

The gardens are open to the public Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays all season.

Opening times: 10.30am – 4pm.

Last entry is at 2.30pm.

Hall Tours

The Hall is offering tours for up to 15 people on selected Thursdays and Sundays in May, June, July and September. These can only be purchased with entry to the Gardens.

Garden and Hall Tour combined tickets can be purchased in advance below, and also on the door (subject to availability).

Historic Houses Members
Please note Historic Houses members entry for the gardens is free, Hall tours are payable on the door.

We try and pack the calendar with fun events from our Easter Egg Hunt to our Halloween Pumpkin trail in October half term. Please check our events page below for more information.

Accessibility

Outside Areas
Nearly all areas of the garden are accessible. Some areas will be restricted due to slopes and steps. Please be aware that some of the paths are uneven in places and tricky with small wheeled chairs. Lawns can be used for moving around. Due to the historic nature of the garden we cannot provide full access.

Disabled Facilities
There is an accesible toilet at the top of Gardens.

Dogs
Sorry no dogs allowed except guide/assistance dogs.

Entry tickets are valid all day from 10.30am and give access to the 12 acres of garden.
Open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays
Pre-book online below or just turn up on the day and pay at the entrance.
March, April, September and October: Last entry is 2.30pm. gardens close at 4pm.
May to August: Last entry is 3.30pm, gardens close at 5pm.
Hall tickets are available on the door for select days during May, June, July and September.
We politely remind visitors not to bring picnics into the gardens
For regular visitors we also offer Season Tickets.
Events are priced independentely withall visitors requiring a ticket unless stated otherwise.

Discounted entry

RHS valid Wednesdays ONLY from April–September (only 1 member free on joint memberships, as stated in RHS handbook. (Cards NOT valid for events/large groups)
HHS members garden only is free with valid card. (cards NOT valid for events or group bookings)
Although we have English Heritage listed status, EH members cards are NOT valid as we are not registered as a members property.
