Opening Times

Friday 29th March 2024 (Good Friday) – 3rd November 2024 (Half term week)

The gardens will be open to the public Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays. In June, July and August they will also be open on a Wednesday.

Accessibility

Outside Areas
Nearly all areas of the garden are accessible. Some areas will be restricted due to slopes and steps. Please be aware that some of the paths are uneven in places and tricky with small wheeled chairs. Lawns can be used for moving around. Due to the historic nature of the garden we cannot provide full access.

Disabled Facilities
There is an accesible toilet at the top of Gardens.

Dogs
Sorry no dogs allowed except guide/assistance dogs.

Gardens Admissions

  • Entry tickets are valid all day from 11am and give access to the 12 acres of garden.
  • Open Tuesday, Wednesday (June, July and August), Thursday, Sunday and bank holiday Mondays
  • Pre-book online below or just turn up on the day and pay at the entrance.
  • April, September and October: Last entry is 2.30pm, gardens close at 4pm.
  • May – August: Last entry is 3.30pm, gardens close at 5pm.
  • Please note The Hall remains closed.
  • We politely remind visitors not to bring picnics into the gardens
  • For regular visitors we also offer Season Tickets.

Discounted entry

  • RHS valid Tuesdays ONLY from April-September.. (Note: only 1 member free on joint memberships, as stated in RHS handbook. Cards NOT valid for events/large groups) 
  • HHS members free with valid card (cards NOT valid for events/large groups)
  • Although we have English Heritage listed status, EH members cards are NOT valid as we are not registered as a members property.
  • Season tickets are available. (These are not valid for events)
  • For coach groups, please phone the estate office on 01502 734901 to arrange pre-booking.

Greenhouse Café

Our exciting new Greenhouse Café is now open! Our menu is completely plant-based with plenty of locally sourced ingredients serving cakes, pastries, seasonal vegetable tarts and coffee. The cafe will be open in line with garden opening days.
