*GARDENS ARE CLOSED ON SUNDAY 3rd JULY FOR PRIVATE EVENT*

Our season runs from Easter to the end of October. 

The Gardens are open from 10am-5pm (last entry 3.30pm) on Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday and Bank Holiday's. No need to pre-book. Please check before you travel in case of unexpected closure or for additional open days. The Hall remains closed for tours.

Although we don't have a fixed tearoom, PikNikBox has arrived serving takeaway hot drinks, homemade cakes and sandwiches.

We try and pack the calendar with fun events from our Easter Egg Hunt to our Halloween Pumpkin trail. Also coming soon is our first Plant Fair in September.. Check our events page for more information.

Accessibility

Outside Areas
Nearly all areas of the garden are accessible, although please be aware that some of the paths are uneven in places and tricky with small wheeled chairs. Lawns can be used for moving around.

Disabled Facilities
There is an accesible toilet at the top of Gardens.

Dogs
Sorry no dogs allowed except guide/assistance dogs.

PAY ON ARRIVAL . PRE BOOKING NOT NEEDED. 

PikNikBox has arrived serving cakes, sandwiches and hot drinks. The shop also sells cold drinks, crisps and ice cream. Picnics areallowedinthegardens, but please take your rubbish home.

Entry tickets are valid all day and give access to the 12 acres of garden.  Last entry is 3.30pm. Gardens close at 5pm. The Hall remains closed for tours. 

RHS valid September ONLY. HHS members free with valid card. (Cards not valid for events/large groups).

For coach groups, please phone the estate office on 01502 734901 to arrange pre- booking.  Please note: Although we have English Heritage listed status, EH members cards are NOT valid as we are NOT registered as a members property.

Covid-19 & Safety Measures

In accordance with the latest UK Govt regulations, Somerleyton Gardens are open as normal from Friday 15th April. We look forward to welcoming our visitors safely back to our gardens and thank you for your support and patience. Please note the following:

  • The children's play area is OPEN  
  • You are welcome to bring a picnic into the gardens but please take your rubbish home with you.
  •  cold drinks (in shop) available to take-away and ice cream in summer months.
  • PikNikBox has arrived serving takeaway hot drinks, sandwiches and cakes.

Our foremost priority remains the health and safety of our visitors and staff. The safety measures implemented at the gardens include:

  • Face coverings are not legally recquired but you may feel comfortable wearing them in the shop and toilets.
  • Screens at the entry and exit point to protect staff and visitors.
  • Hand sanitiser available to staff and visitors at strategic points.
  • Visitors can just turn up on the day and pay preferably by card.
